    Learning Express Library

      Learning Express Library is an interactive online learning platform featuring over 770 practice tests, tutorials, and e-books related to job search and workplace skills improvement. Step-by-step, easy-to-use resume and cover letter creation. Practice exams for career certification and licensing exam preparation, college entrance and graduate school admissions. GED exam preparation (both in English & Spanish) and basic skills improvement in reading, writing and math for all ages. You'll get immediate scoring, complete answer explanations, and an individualized analysis of your results.

    The Colby Library and The Friends of the Colby Library are pleased to announce that we will present Odds Bodkin, master storyteller and author performing, A Christmas Carol told in the style of Charles Dickens on December 7th at 7pm. With voices for Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Marley’s Ghost, Scrooge’s nephew, and the Ghosts of Christmas, Bodkin recreates Dickens’ “Tuxedo and Lectern” performances of his immortal tale. The 1-hour performance is 100% Dicken’s words, excerpted from his novella and brought to life with English accents. This family performance is recommended for 3rd grade to adult audiences. Seating will be limited. Please come to the library to pick up your free ticket.

    The Friends of the Library also invite you to participate in a Christmas cookie exchange on Saturday, December 10th at 11:30am. Participants must bring 3 dozen homemade decorated Christmas cookies displayed on a platter, with a typed card describing the cookies, with or without nuts, and stories about the cookie recipe if applicable. Please bring a tin to bring exchanged cookies home. Please register for this event by December 3rd.

    The book discussion group will meet on December 8th to discuss Michael Connelly’s Brass Verdict. Please stop in to pick up a copy of the book.

    The Senior Movie will be held on Wednesday, December 7th, at 11am. Please call for information regarding the movie.

    Preschool story times are held on Thursdays at 10am and 1pm. Please call to register your child at 382-6733.                              

    The Knitter’s and Handcrafter’s Group will meet on Monday from 6pm to 7:45pm. If you don’t know how to knit, we will help you. The group is offering a raffle basket of yarn and books. The raffle will be drawn on Saturday, December 3rd. The Knitter’s Group is once again making mittens for the Town Holiday Baskets.
